We are honoured to live in these times, and ask Allah swt to continue to bless this Ummah with the courage engagement and endeavour to improve the situation for the inhabitants of the earth. We all have a  long way to go before the last person the Ummah is being provided with the basic necessities but situation swiftly change in instances. The world in 50 years may look completely different and we may not even recognize it.

By the permission of Allah swt we made the “Allah” sign disappear in Katy Perry’s video Dark Horses.  The Hollywood movie Noah was banned in  majority of Islamic Countries. And that in itself is a manifestation of collective effort centred for one  universal cause. The very essence of what it means to be one Ummah finds its way back to the people.

Social media has played the key role during these Phenomenons. A  lesson for us to learn that technology is tool to be reckoned with. Brooke Eikmeier former U.S. Army translator , is behind the  ” Alice in Arabia” series, her response to the controversy indicated how narrow-minded the notion is. BuzzFeed and Muslim advocacy were at the frontier against the campaigns and made sure to stop such bigotry on American national TV ABC Family bought then did not hesitate after the uproar to drop the programme four days later.

The opposition main concerns were the Anti-Arab Stereotypes that were loaded in  in theprogram. BuzzFeed’s Rega Jha pointed out some of these factual inaccuracies, she says ”  “the garment Alice dons in Saudi Arabia is incorrectly labelled an ‘abaya’ — an abaya is a robe that doesn’t include a face covering, while what Alice puts on does veil her face and head, including her eyes, making it either a niqab or a burqa.”

 Rega Jha says the source of the inspiration for the show mirrors the classical clichés Hollywood always had about the middle east and Islam which is discussed in the article below.

In an open letter Eikmeier says to her defence that she sees the story as a “high-stakes drama” in which an American girl is “abducted” by her Saudi Arabian family, where she fights for survival behind the veil.

She explained, “Personally, I would have simply written: A drama centring on an American teenager who, after her mother’s death must make the adjustment to living with her maternal family in Saudi Arabia.”

The former U.S. Army translator  has background as a cryptology linguist in Arabic, does not only know how to write script but also how to communicate the message. We all wonder how a she then can defend herself for that poor attempt and ignore the real concern behind the criticism instead of calling it a  ” hit job”

Well if that is the case let me sell you the biggest secret within Hollywood many people forgot or deliberately hide.

From the beginning of Hollywood and the entertainment business in America had a big interest to paint their own interpretation of what the Muslim world meant to be. These wild imagination underwent  an evolution and end-up having Arabs starring as barbaric people without mercy, greed and craze.

This led t vilify Islam to the extent that people like Eikmeier do not even realise why they are wrong. And we dont directly blame them, these notion are deeply embedded in the Hollywood culture.

Hollywood classic “The Sheik”  as early as  in 1921 is a film that pioneered these notion in early stages of the making of Hollywood. Hollywood fabricated an eroticized and exoticized Orient, titillating audiences with adventure and lust in the untamed desert landscape. The Arab stereotype in films in the 1920s was mostly an unsavory concoction of exoticism, abduction, banditry, revenge, and slavery. Strange as if we heard this somewhere just recenty right.

The plots invariably made Arabs the adversaries, pitting them against Western good guys. These films not only helped actors like Rudolph Valentino into stardom. Blockbuster hits like this helped to reinforce negative notions, perceptions and laws. I mean for someone to believe 9.11 was the start of the modern conflict needs to go back into history lesson.  These prejudices over another group of people helped government to pass laws. ” Sounds  Far-fected” ?

JimcrowCover to an early edition of “Jump Jim Crow” sheet music (c 1832)

Jim Crow Laws may ring the bells. Jim Crow Law” first appeared in 1904. he origin of the phrase “Jim Crow” has often been attributed to “Jump Jim Crow“a song-and-dance caricature of blacks performed by white actor Thomas D. Rice in blackface, which first surfaced in 1832 and was used to satirizeAndrew Jackson‘s populist policies. As a result of Rice’s fame, “Jim Crow” had become a pejorative expression meaning “Negro” by 1838. When southern legislatures passed laws of racial segregation – directed against blacks – at the end of the 19th century, these became known as Jim Crow laws.

The one thing these people miss that the attack they launching is a  direct attack on Islam. They use the Arabs to attack fundamental beliefs like the Burqa.

Curse of Ham part 2

Vollbild anzeigen

220px-Ham02

In  the last article we discussed the christian narrative and the incorrect points that had been propagated throughout History. Unfortunately a few Muslim writers adopted the belief. The two main areas that suffered under the myth were historiography and ethnography of Muslim literature. scholars and writers wanted to know causes for the dark skin, and sometimes borrowed from the story of ham in the from the people of the book. One of them is jarir at tabri in his masterpiece Tarik ar Rasul  wal muluk.

The story however had a twist. Noah’s curse against his son Ham was a result of him seeing the nakedness of his father. Similar to the story in Genesis, Nuh Aley selam is being shown in a bad light and the majority of the classical scholars opposed the idea.  Among scholars we have the likes of As-suyti, Al jahiz and Ibn khaldun.David M. Goldenberg’s mentions something similar  his study of representation of Black  Africans in Judaism, Christianity and Islam, by saying

” The Biblical story ( curse of Ham) has been the single greatest justification for black Slavery for more than thousand years, It’s a strange justification  for black slavery for there is no reference in it to blacks at all”.

The major problem in the story is the lack of evidence there is no supporting pillar to back up the claim , and we tried  to show the flaws in he story in part of the cure of Ham. The advice of the Prophet SaS was to not acknowledge the stories nor disagree. There are a few traditions that allow Muslim to narrate the stories of the Jewish, but there are of course conditions. For example the narration on the authority of Abdullah ibn Amr RD.  narrates

that the Prophet sas said convey from me, even if it is one ayah. Narrate from the Children of Israel without fear of reproach and whoever lies about me deliberately  should prepare his seat in the Fire”

(Al-Bukhari kitab al -anbiya. bab ma dhukira an Bani Israil No. 3274)

Abu Hurayrah RD. narrates ” The  People of the Book used to read the Tawrah in Ibraniyyah ( Hebrew) and explain it in Arabic to the  people of Islam, so the Messenger of Allah swt  said, Do not believe the People of the Book , nor disbelieve them, but rather” Say  ” We belive in Allah  and what has been revealed to us( Surat al Baqarah 2:135) Hadith is found in ( Al-Bukhari, kitab at tafsir, bab qulu amanna billahi wa ma unzila ilayna No, 4215, see also Nos 6928 and 7013)

So what is the lesson we can take from here ? Prophetic tradition is superior to any statements any other human makes providing the tradition is thoroughly understood, and goes hand with the consensus of the majority of scholars. Then of course the ability to categorize  the Israel narration  is vital to understand. There are narration that there confirmed by Qur’an and Sunnah, then there are narration which contradict  Qur’an and Sunnah. And then those one who are no found in Islam teaching which the Hadith above gives us guidance how to deal with it. These Hadith we mentioned should be enough to understand that there is a way of filtering away Non- Islamic principles. Furthermore we can learn from our past mistake and see what could once we adopt beliefs that outside Islam. Why does it matter what people in the past said or did. Well the 9th century represented the century of slavery in Iraq and around that time many racial slurs were motivated by these teachings.

Black Horses, Black Magic and Katy Perry

Vollbild anzeigen

black horse

The Anti-Black Horse Campaign is growing by the minute. Katy Perry and her Production company will have to understand that the mix message in the new music video is forcefully being rejected by the Muslim community.

28 million views in 4 days shows how many people were anticipating this video.The Pepsi promotional stunt on Twitter encouraged fans to participate in a voting program, where fans could unlock song titles and their respective lyrics by tweeting the hashtag “#KATYNOW”. The chosen tracks for the campaign were “Walking on Air” and “Dark Horse”. Once tweets voting for each song reached a certain number, their respective samples were unlocked and fans could vote for which one they wanted to have an early release on digital retailers. “Dark Horse”, won and was released on September 17, 2013 on the iTunes Store.However, due to its commercial success, it was sent to contemporary hit and rhythmic radio stations on December 17, 2013 as Prisms third official single.

Is Katy Perry aware of the message she is sending out or is she even in control of the video and the production?

The people who worked close with her on the project affirm it. The director of the Music Video Cullen defends the video and says ” Ancient Egypt is part of what he calls our “shared collective mythology”. He also said “The most important thing is that when you create something, and this is actually something Katy and I worked to do”.

Rapper Juicy J who is featured in the video says ” very professionally, the verse I did on that song, she was singing it”. He adds “She’s really a genius, she was by the mixing board and telling the guy what to take in and take out, She’s really hands-on with her music, she knows music”. Katy talks about the song herself, in an interview, she says  she wanted the song to have a “witchy, spell-y kind of black magic-y idea”, so she wrote it from the perspective of a witch warning a man not to fall in love with her because if he does, she will be his last. Could this be the reason behind the failure of her marriage ?

The Qur’an supports the idea that Black Magic could be used to separate or manipulate Man and Woman perception of each other. What is so striking about this is that the US singer claims it herself and says that the motivation behind the song was to warn men.

Of course a warning that is not being taking seriously by her 28 mio viewers on Youtube. However let us follow the narrative the Qur’an presents. And the noble Quran narrates

And they followed [instead] what the devils had recited during the reign of Solomon. It was not Solomon who disbelieved, but the devils disbelieved, teaching people magic and that which was revealed to the two angels at Babylon, Harut and Marut. But the two angels do not teach anyone unless they say, “We are a trial, so do not disbelieve [by practicing magic].” And [yet] they learn from them that by which they cause separation between a man and his wife. But they do not harm anyone through it except by permission of Allah . And the people learn what harms them and does not benefit them. But the Children of Israel certainly knew that whoever purchased the magic would not have in the Hereafter any share. And wretched is that for which they sold themselves, if they only knew”     { Surah Baraqah}

I am literally speechless the Quran has the answer to all issues we can think of.  ” And wrected is that for which they sold themselves, if the only knew” This is what Imran Hussein beautifully conveys in his video as responds to Katy Perry. He takes the attention away from the controversial “Allah-Chain -scene” and gives a spiritual advice. see video here. {Imran Hussein}

imran Khan { Anticipation of Dawah man’s Video}

About an hour ago Dawah Man posted  the picture above stating he also will respond to the incident Insha Allah which means it will be his fifth video to a Celebrity.  His Eminem video that went viral caused a whole generation for the first time to unite against an A-list super mega star. Dawah man got his point across in a unmatched fashion, and the result of that is  50 thousand views see video here { Dawah To Eminem} . What can we expect and from which angle will he tackle this, we are still waiting for his respond. The Muslim are sharp and more than willing to be vocal about where the red line needs to be drawn, when associating anything to Allah swt. I think the most shocking thing about the fiasco is that the fans and, now even academics praise her for creativity and being accurate as Robert K. Ritner, Professor of Egyptology at the University of Chicago, said “Whoever put this together actually knew something about the myth of Cleopatra. There are a number of features in here that I could use in class”.

The Muslim responds is an E-petition circulating online with over 30 thousand supporters. There are about 15 thousand sign up  needed for You tube remove the video. So please share this article, sign up the E-Petition here{ Remove} Please leave us comment what you think about the uproar not justified ?.

Amina from “Femen Tunisia” quits the movement, too Islamophobic

Vollbild anzeigen

“I do not want my name to be associated with an Islamophobic organisation,” These are the words of a highly controversial personality. Amina Sboui ( may Allah  سبحانه و تعالى have mercy on her)  a Tunisian activist quits Femen after realising the real agenda behind the movement. Amina Sboui ignited an online splash earlier this year by posting naked pictures of herself with a painted slogan on her body saying ” My body belongs to me, and not a source of anyone’s honour”. She told the Maghreb edition of the Huffington Post that she won’t  be part of the organisation any longer. She also adds “I did not appreciate the action taken by the girls shouting ‘Amina Akbar, Femen Akbar’ in front of the Tunisian embassy in Paris.

She disapproves the blasphemous chants of Allahu akbar ( God is Greater) and the burning of the black Tawheed Flag and ,says that she has friends and family that were deeply affected by it.  “We must respect everyone’s religion,” she added.

65730_325297964240018_21084959_n(Burning of the Tawheed Flag)

It is pure financial greed and ignorance that drives these young females into self-destruction. It is like a ship on the pacific ocean with only the captain knowing what direction they heading to. This became clear when Amina asked Femen leader Inna Shevchenko where and how the organisation is financed. She says ““I don’t know how the movement is financed. I asked (Femen leader Inna Shevchenko) several times, but I didn’t get a clear answer. I don’t want to be in a movement supported by suspect money. What if it is financed by Israel? I want to know.”

Femen  founded in Ukraine in 2008 and shifted  later to Paris  and received more exposure in central Europe. The movement has been fallen  under suspicion  for a while due to  the mysterious figures behind the movement. Victor Svyatski is considered as the mastermind behind the group. Mr Syvatski is known as a “consultant” to the movement yet there are reports of abuse within the organisation that from him. According  to Ms Green’s documentary she says “He can be really horrible but he is fiercely intelligent,”  she adds he sought to justify his role within the organisation and  acknowledged the paradox of being a “patriarch” running a feminist protest group. “These girls are weak,” he says in the film.

The question arises is all what these women believe may just be another version of how to control a group of individuals. Is Femen just another cult that disregards the well-being of women ? Is Nudity really Freedom ?

“Nudity is Freedom”

Outrage pays well, whether its Islam ignorant bigoted Pamela Geller, or Brigitte Gabriel, the dollars dictate. Femen is not exempt from this humanistic voracity. Radiosvoboda.org reports citing the Italian edition Il Foglio.

“Each protester in Kiev gets a thousand euros a month, and its activists here are paid 2,500 euros (with the average salary in Kiev of 500 euros),” Il Foglio writes.

According to a Kiev source with the Italian edition, in Paris, the girls from Femen earn much more – they can get about 1000 euros a day.

Il Foglio says the female movement is sponsored by an American entrepreneur and German businessmen.

“Femen activists are allegedly paid by American Jed Sanden, a business person who runs a business in Kiev, as well as two rich men from Germany,” the article reads.

Thus, the publication concludes that Femen is a well-funded structure.

Well no wonder why, The organization plans to become the biggest and the most influential movement in Europe. Why is Femen not tackling the real issues. They merely jumping on  the badawagon and think it is justified to react ignorantly. Condemnation without investigation is the height of ignorance.
